Dessert Plate – Up & Down
Two golden birds fly across this white plate, one rising above the other as if riding a current of autumn air, past a vase of autumn botanicals, while a branch of cobalt-blue berries hangs nearby. The motifs are painted loosely and kept apart, so the white porcelain feels like open sky between them.
Just the right size for an individual serving of sashimi or a seasonal sweet.

SHODA Harumi trained in Kutani ware in Ishikawa and is known for a warmer, more approachable take on the tradition. Here the decoration is painted in traditional gouache pigment with a soft, light hand.
