Hariko Fortune Figurine – Mount Fuji
There is a small surprise hidden inside this cheerful hariko figure of a little Mount Fuji: an omikuji, a Japanese fortune slip, waiting to be drawn.
Open the base and read your fortune. Afterwards the little figure stays on as a keepsake, with just enough weight to work as a paperweight on a desk.
Features
Hariko is a traditional form of Japanese papier-mâché, long used for folk toys and good-luck charms. Kyoto Karasuma Rokushichido finishes each figure with details of Awa washi, and the gentle irregularities of handwork mean no two are exactly alike.
Every fortune is blessed at Manzoku Inari Shrine in Higashiyama, Kyoto, before it is placed inside.
