DUO - Tokkuri, Sake Bottle & Kobachi, Sake Cup, Amber
Even standing empty, the DUO tokkuri and kobachi look as though a little sake is already waiting inside. Two layers of glass, one thicker than the other, meet along a gently curving line, and the eye reads that edge as the surface of a drink.
Once it is filled, the real liquid and the illusion settle into each other. Paired with its small cups, it makes a cheerful centrepiece for a bottle shared slowly between two people.
Features
DUO is made from two layers of glass of different thicknesses, fused into a single vessel. Because each piece is blown by hand, the curve where they meet falls a little differently on every bottle and cup.
For coloured DUO pieces, Sghr's artisans carry out mould blowing twice, once for each layer. A team of experienced artisans works quickly in sequence to bring the two colours together.
Introduced in 1996, DUO has remained Sghr's best-selling series. The tokkuri has a gentle pouring lip and a body that tapers to a thick, steady base.

Care
Wash by hand with a soft sponge and mild detergent, then dry with a soft cloth. Keep away from the microwave, dishwasher, oven and direct heat, and avoid sudden changes in temperature. Please store pieces unstacked.
