Cherry Bark Tea Scoop – Natural
A small scoop of cherry bark, sized to rest inside a tea canister so it is always there when the lid comes off. The bark is left plain, its warm reddish-brown sheen running the length of the handle. Lift the lid, scoop the leaves, and the first pot of the morning is under way.

Each scoop is made by hand at Yatsuyanagi in Kakunodate, Akita, a workshop that has practised kabazaiku, the craft of mountain cherry bark, since 1876.
Because the bark is a natural material, every scoop has its own grain and tone. With use, its sheen grows and its colour slowly changes.

Care
Keep it away from water, damp places and open flame. Now and then, wipe it with a soft, dry cloth along the grain of the bark to bring out its gloss.
