Camellia Chopstick Rest – One Side Floral
Red camellias, each painted in a few broad strokes with touches of gold at the centre, gather at one end of this small oval rest, while a single leaf on a curving stem drifts in from the other, as if carried there on a breeze. The middle is left open and white, a quiet place for your chopsticks to settle between bites.
Features
The camellia is one of Akiko Nakamura's recurring motifs. She paints it in loose brushstrokes rather than fine outlines, so each flower keeps the movement of the hand, and the gold stamens catch the light against the red.
Each rest is signed "Aki" in red on the base.
