Chopstick Rest – Fuji

A tiny scene for the turning of the year. Mount Fuji rises in brilliant turquoise beneath a bright red sun, a small first sunrise to set beside your bowl.

Set it out for a New Year meal, or whenever the season needs a little celebrating.

Features

Yamazaki works in the bold Kutani Gosai palette, painting each line by hand. Fine kannyu crackle runs through the glaze, and the rough clay at the base is left bare for a touch of earthy warmth.
