The Artist: Yuko Odaka (小高裕子)
Yuko Odaka is part of the modern wave of Kutaniyaki (九谷焼) artists. While Kutani ware is traditionally celebrated for its bold, vibrant colors and intricate patterns, her work is defined by delicacy, warmth, and storytelling that brings a smile every time you pick up one of her pieces.

The Brand: Iroe Yu (色絵 遊)
The name "Iroe Yu" translates to "Playful Overglaze Decoration"—a nod to the traditional technique where colorful pigments are handpainted over fired glaze and then fired again at a lower temperature to set the vibrant hues. The character 遊 (yu), meaning "play," reflects Yuko's whimsical, joyful approach to her craft.

- The Shima Enaga (Long-tailed Tit) –Affectionately known as the "snow fairy," this  beloved bird is found only in Hokkaido and has become her iconic motif
