duo-tokkuri-kobachi-set-amber
DUO - Tokkuri & Kobachi Set, Amber

Even standing empty, the DUO tokkuri and kobachi look as though a little sake is already waiting inside. Two layers of glass, one thicker than the other, meet along a gently curving line, and the eye reads that edge as the surface of a drink.

Once they are filled, the real liquid and the illusion settle into each other. With one bottle and two small cups, the set makes a cheerful centrepiece for sake shared slowly between two people.

Features

DUO is made from two layers of glass of different thicknesses, fused into a single vessel. Because each piece is blown by hand, the curve where they meet falls a little differently on every bottle and cup.

For coloured DUO pieces, Sghr's artisans carry out mould blowing twice, once for each layer. A team of experienced artisans works quickly in sequence to bring the two colours together.

Introduced in 1996, DUO has remained Sghr's best-selling series. The tokkuri has a gentle pouring lip and a body that tapers to a thick, steady base.

Specifications

Material: Glass

Includes: 1 tokkuri, 2 kobachi

Dimensions:

Tokkuri: Approx.
