Haruka Ishizuka 石塚悠

Haruka Ishizuka (石塚 悠) is a talented glass artist and the craftswoman behind the brand Fuji Glass (藤ガラス). Based in Japan, she is recognized for her unique "kiln-formed" glasswork, which involves fusing and shaping glass in a kiln to create delicate, textured pieces. Her aesthetic is defined by a soft, matte finish and organic patterns—most notably her signature floral and lace-like motifs that mimic the look of sugar-coated candy or frosted petals. Her work, which ranges from intricate jewelry to functional tableware like "lemon plates" and "flower dishes," is highly sought after in artisanal craft boutiques and solo exhibitions across Japan.

Fuji Glass Studio is centered on the permanent, physical manipulation of light. Unlike traditional "blown glass" which is shaped by breath and gravity while molten, Haruka Ishizuka's kiln-formed process is more akin to sculpture; she works with cold glass powders and fragments, firing them at precise temperatures to achieve a unique matte, frosted finish that feels more like sugar or ceramic than typical transparent glass. This creates a specific "frozen in time" aesthetic, where her signature floral and lace patterns are physically fused into the objects, resulting in functional art pieces that are prized for their delicate, tactile texture rather than just their transparency.

A white bird glides across a pale, frosted sky.
